About NFSC

We are North Fork Senior Connections, an independent, locally-run 501 (c3) nonprofit organization serving the North Fork Valley on the Western Slope of Colorado.

Our work began with a simple, neighborly idea: help older adults stay in their homes and stay connected to the community they helped build.

What started with small seasonal tasks—clearing snow, raking leaves, helping with windows—has grown into a valley-wide effort to support aging with dignity, choice, and companionship.

Our mission is to help seniors age in place and remain active, valued members of their communities. We believe every person deserves the option to grow older at home, and that our towns are stronger when older adults are visible, engaged, and respected.

Today, we operate the Paonia Senior Center, where weekly programs offer low-cost meals, exercise, learning, and connection. We’ve also launched a new gathering space in Crawford, welcoming seniors twice a month to share meals, laughter, and conversation. With help from volunteers, we provide transportation, seasonal property help, and on-call assistance with everyday tasks—filling in the gaps that can make a big difference.

Our work is made possible by the generosity of individuals, local businesses, grant partners—and especially volunteers of all ages who choose to show up and help.

Whether you’re a senior, a supporter, or someone looking to lend a hand, you belong here.
