Services

Time to sign up for the annual fall Community Days of Service which, this year, are set for October 27 and 28 in Paonia, and the following weekend in November in Crawford and Hotchkiss. These events are a concentrated effort on the part of North Fork volunteers to get our senior population prepared for the coming spring and summer.

Young and old alike join forces to rake leaves, clean up garden areas, wash windows, clean gutters (one story step-ladder accessible only), and take care of other outside chores, including checking window-mounted swamp coolers.

If you’d like our assistance, please give us a call (970) 527-3482 or drop us an email (info@nfseniorconnections.org), and we’ll send out someone who can assess and prioritize the tasks. We’re trying the “two day” approach this season in the attempt to attract more help from high school students and others who might be available on either October 27 (a Friday afternoon) and/or October 28 (the traditional Saturday morning celebration).

nf-senior-connections-volunteers

Twice yearly, in the spring and in the fall, North Fork Senior Connections volunteers along with service groups in the community team up to help seniors with seasonal chores such as installing or decommissioning swamp coolers, cleaning gutters, raking leaves, and washing windows. It’s a great way to connect with your community, and you do not have to be a member to join in the effort. Call or contact us now, to request service or to volunteer to help out on our Days of Service (October 27 & 28 in Paonia) and November 4 in Hotchkiss and Crawford.
